Obituary of Steven Carmine Dato

Steven Carmine Dato, Age 88, of North Bergen, NJ passed away on May 13,2017 in North Bergen.  Steven was born in Jersey City to Carmine and  Beatrice Dato as Carmine Dato Jr. on August 18, 1928.  He went to high school at Dickerson. He went on to serve in the US Navy , and soon after started A & S Market  on Hudson Avenue in West New York, NJ.  In response to customer requests, Steve with the help of his wife Virginia, began and developed A & S Catering Service in North Bergen.   He enjoyed running, bowling, and was a devoted husband, father and son.  He served as President of the West New York Lions and Elks  clubs and was an active participant in their many civic projects.

Steven Dato is survived by his wife, Virginia R. Dato of North Bergen, NJ, his daughters, Rosemarie Behnke and Virginia Dato, his brother Robert Dato,  grandchildren Steven Behnke, David Chancellor and Katherine Chancellor and great-grandchildren Samuel and Gabrielle  Behnke.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Frank Dato.

Visiting on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 9 to 10AM at Konopka Funeral Home, 9046 Palisade Avenue, North Bergen, NJ. Funeral Mass at 11 AM
