Obituary of Tome Mestric

Tome Mestric, 81, of Cliffside Park, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 14, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Maria (nee) Tarabocchia. Devoted father to Joanne Bussanich (Shawn), Devi Mestric, and Marie Leslie. Loving brother to Mileva Pusic (late Ante), Marija Joja (Mladen), and Davor Mestric (Janja). Adored grandfather of Kaitlin, Ryan, Jack, and Samantha. Tome was born on November 4, 1943 in Kukljica, Croatia to the late Sime and Ivana (Milic), and came to the US in 1968. After moving from Hoboken, he created a forever home in Cliffside Park, NJ where he raised his family. He lived a life of love, hard-work, and devotion, and his tireless work ethic was only matched by his unwavering commitment to family. Tome retired from the Marble and Tile industry as a Marble Setter from Local 7 in NY. He had a passion for gardening and cooking, always making sure his garden looked colorful and his food was enjoyed. He put those he loved above all, and his selflessness inspired anyone that met him. Though he will be immensely missed and never forgotten, his legacy of love and dedication will live on. Visiting hours will be Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 2-6 pm at Konopka Funeral Home, 9406 Palisade Ave, North Bergen, NJ. Funeral Mass on Monday, June 23, 2025 at Epiphany Church, 247 Knox Ave., Cliffside Park, NJ at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow at Fairview Mausoleum, Fairview, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
