Catalina R. Corpuz, 83, North Bergen, NJ, passed away on Monday August 25, 2025.

Catalina or Lena as she preferred to be called, was a proud New Yorker and Filipina! She immigrated to the USA in her twenties and worked professionally as a successful bookeeper in NYC. She was very active in her local church Sacred Heart where she was a Eucharistic Minister & member of the Legion of Mary. In her Filipino Community she was an active member of the Organizations: Tarlac Foundation USA and served as secretary and board trustee 1992-2000, Carinosa USA and Maharajah 2 she served as a board member 2004-2008. These organizations supported Filipino Americans from Tarlac a region in the Philippines.

Lena was known for her celebration of life and loved to laugh. Her happiest moments came from conversations with family members and friends. Lena reminisced about the good times she had with her previous roommates from a shared NYC apartment in her twenties. Lena's greatest joy and success in life came from the birth of her four children and three grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Grace Corpuz, Peter Corpuz, Alex Corpuz, Michael Corpuz; her sister Cora Carolino; her nieces & nephews: Joanne Carolino, Patrick Carolino, Austen Carolino, Rowena Rosel, Rachel Rosel, Ronald Rosel; her cousins: Lita Alimurong. Her grandchildren : Gabriel Corpuz, Evelyn Corpuz, Alyssa Corpuz. Her Daughter in law Samantha Goldman Corpuz. Extended family: Alfonso Corpuz, Francisca Corpuz, Beth Goldman & Goldman Family, Jones family - Marguerite Jones.

She will be reunited in heaven with her mother Estrudes Razon, Father, Alejandro Razon, Sister, Remedios Rosel; brothers in law: Romeo Rosel & Norman (Fleming) Carolino Sr; nephews Norman Carolino Jr and Richard Rosel and cousin Carding Tiglao.

Visitation in memory of Catalina will take place on Saturday, August 30th from 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM at the Joseph Z. Konopka Funeral Home. Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church. After mass, we will take Catalina to her final resting place in Fairview Cemetery.
