Norma Villalba, 92, of Cliffside Park, New Jersey, passed away surrounded by loving family on September 18, 2025.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Norma Villalba.
Born on January 5, 1933 to parents, Sara Montoya and Juan Lazo.
Norma dedicated her life to education and to serving her community.
She began her career in the New York City Department of Education in 1973, joining PS 192 in District 06, Manhattan.
For 30 years, she touched countless lives as an elementary school educator, inspiring and guiding generations of students with compassion and dedication.
After her retirement in 2003, Norma continued to share her passion for teaching by returning as a substitute in 2006, reaffirming her commitment to the children and families of District 06.
Her legacy lives on in the many students, colleagues, and families whose lives she impacted throughout her remarkable career.
She will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew her.
Norma was a devoted mother and grandmother to her son and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving son, Vicente J. Villalba, her Daughter In- law, Yesenia Villalba and her Grandkids, Vincent Villalba, Kevin Villalba, Kayla Villalba and Kaitlyn Villalba.
She will be reunited in heaven with her beloved parents, Sara Montoya and Juan Lazo, brother, Juan Lazo, and sister, Marina Cabrera.
Visitation for Norma will take place Sunday, September 28th from 12 PM - 4 PM at the Joseph Z. Konopka Funeral Home.
Funeral mass will be held the following day, September 29th from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church in Fairview, NJ. After mass, we will take Norma to her final resting place at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx, NY.
