Dear Bart,
I am sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I have known Mike for almost all my life since we graduated JFK and NBHS together. We reconnected recently on Facebook. He was a joy to converse with and had wonderful stories. I always had a chuckle when he posted one of his witty comments.
You and your family are in my prayers and I hope Mike is resting in peace with your Mom and Dad. Be well and take care.
Sincerely,
Maura Brannagan

My deepest sympathies to Mike's family, and all his friends - those who are dear to me as well as those I haven't had the opportunity to meet. May Mike rest in peace, and never be questioned in the afterlife about the ordering of 3 entrees at the same meal.

To our dear friend, “Baff”,
Having known you since high school, it’s hard to believe we won’t see you this summer. I will miss your emails and our talks when we got together. It was always so comfortable with you because you had a good heart. Meanwhile, there is a hole in our hearts. We cherish those memories as do so many of your friends. Rest In Peace in God’s kingdom.
Love,
Linda and Rick

Extremely hard to accept that our beautiful and unforgettable Mike is gone. Eight years ago we reconnected after 30+ years, and what followed is one of the best and most important friendships of my life. To know Mike is to love him. Generous, sweet, funny, nostalgic, honest, caring, genuine, kind, smart, endearing, warm, insightful. Never will you meet a more loyal friend. Mike would move mountains to support those he loved. He rearranged and managed days off and vacations around my children’s recitals and concerts with the devotion of a proud parent, traveling to New Orleans for Cecilia and all over New York for Jerome. In fact, Mike was planning to fly to the Netherlands with us for Jerome’s latest musical endeavors.
After my dad died, Mike wrote, “Your father had the right attitude; we’re all short timers here, and we have to make the most of our time on this Earth.” I think dear Mike did just that—working hard, playing hard, making the most of each precious day and every new fun adventure (and there were plenty!). I still vividly see him smiling broadly while we watched the Yankees win at the new stadium, eating sugary beignets at Café Du Monde in his favorite city of New Orleans, or reminiscing about the good times with family and so many life-long friends, especially with his very best friend Angelo. Mike will remain in our hearts and memories, and forever will we all be grateful for his true-blue friendship and unconditional love. ~~Susan Gebhardt-Burns and Family

Mike was such a special part of our Cunard Line New York family that we can't believe that this has happened. We collectively on FB and beyond are devastated. He has touched all of us with his warmth and kindness. I knew Mike from his first day at Cunard Line and am so glad I got to spend our last reunion just recently with him in New York City at Maggies in Midtown.
I know he is the loving hands of his parents and Our Lord and Mike put in a few good words for me! lolz we used to kid about that...Love you forever and ever Reg and the boys

My heart is so sad.
