Obituary of Rose C Freitag

Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rose C. Freitag (Fredricks), age 94, of Ridgefield, NJ, crossed over into eternal life on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at Villa Marie Claire, with her loved ones at her side. Rose was born and raised in Ridgefield, NJ. She was the youngest daughter of George Fredricks, Sr., (who helped organize Ridgefield Fire Company #3 and served as Chief), and Juliette Fredricks (who helped organize the Ridgefield Senior Citizens and served as President). Rose worked for the Home Insurance Company In New York City, the Russman Bus Company, and was an instructor for the Ridgefield Recreation Summer Play Camp. In 1953, she married John "Jack" Freitag of Fairview, NJ, and that wonderful marriage gave them 2 children, John Jr., and Roseann. In those early years, Rose was very active with St. James Church, serving with the ECW Group Workshop, the Couple's Club, and running the Christmas and White Elephant Booths at their annual bazaars. She was also a Golden Age Member of the Ridgefield Senior Citizens. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafts, spending time with family, and was proud to be a Wife, Mom and Homemaker. She was an amazing person with a heart of gold, who was always ready to help anyone in need. She will be greatly missed, but will always be alive in the hearts of all that knew her, loved her, and appreciated her and her friendship. Rose is now reunited in heaven with her parents George Sr., and Juliette, her brothers Joseph and George Jr., her sisters Katherine, Julie, Jesse and Margaret, her sweetheart husband Jack, her sister-in-law/"daughter" Agnes Ann, and great granddaughter Sophia. She is survived by her dear son John Jr. and his wife Emilia, and her fiercely devoted daughter Roseann. She was the proud Grandma to John III and his wife Allyson, Gina DeMartino and her husband Geremy, Chris and Great Grandma to Guiliana. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Irene Fredricks, several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. We thank God that our family was blessed to have had this amazing woman in our lives for as long as we did, and we now return her back into the loving arms of God. We celebrate her life and will keep her close in our hearts with all the wonderful, fun and loving memories we made with her. Help to honor her legacy by being compassionate and performing daily acts of kindness. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the Joseph Z. Konopka Funeral Home, 9046 Palisade Avenue, North Bergen, NJ 07047 (201) 865-0923. A prayer service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00am on Monday, January 27, 2020, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, NJ.
