Obituary of Maria Chamoun Altounjian

Maria Chamoun Altounjian passed at age 52 surrounded by her loving family on June 9, 2024. One of five children, she had always acted as a second mother to her four siblings throughout her entire life. She had the most love in her heart for husband Asadour and her two children Rita and Kevork. She had a lot to be proud of throughout her life, with her greatest accomplishments being through her children, she watched her daughter get married to her son-in-law Vrej, and also welcomed her first Grandchild, Sarkis, which had filled her heart with love and joy, she witnessed her son achieved his goals – and she had always cherished the small moments in life among everything. She was a very charitable woman – with an incredible amount of generosity in her heart to all living beings – she was a crusader for animals in need. Maria was a hard-working, beloved, beautiful woman who will always be remembered for her powerful heart that was filled with nothing but love. One of her greatest qualities was her strength in faith – she was very loyal to God, and he had always rewarded her for her incredible piety. Maria is survived by her husband Asadour Altounjian, children Rita Badrikian (Altounjian) & Kevork Altounjian, grandson Sarkis Badrikian. She will be reunited in heaven with her father, Boulos Chamoun. The Funeral will be held at St. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church: 461 Bergen Boulevard. Ridgefield, NJ 07657 on Wednesday June 12, 2024. Viewing at 10:00 AM & Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Followed by Graveside Service at Fairview Cemetery: 500 Fairview Ave, Fairview, NJ 07022.
