Obituary of Charles J Merlin

Charlie J. Merlin, 88, of Cliffside Park, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on June 27th 2024. Charlie was 88 and would have turned 89 on July 11th. He adored his parents Frances and Charles J. Merlin Sr. Charlie graduated from Saint Peter‘s College in 1957 with a B.S. in Marketing and later proudly served in the Armed Forces until 1964. He worked as a retail manager for a variety of department stores. He was an avid fan of the NY Giants, as well as the NY Rangers. Charlie loved going to Broadway shows. He also enjoyed various genres of music... including jazz, big band and the rat pack. Charlie had an impressive collection of vinyl records and spent many hours listening to them. Charlie is survived by his beautiful wife Joanne, his three devoted daughters: Pam, Jeanine and Tara, his two caring son-in-laws: Kevin and Rob, and his adoring grandchildren: Val and Nick. Visitation, in memory of Charlie will take place on Sunday, June 30th from 2 - 6 PM at the Joseph Z. Konopka Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church the following day, July 1st at 10:30 AM. After mass, we will take Charles to his final resting place at Fairview Cemetery.
