Obituary of Rakel Daniele

Rakel Ekmekjian Daniele, age 85, of Fort Lee, passed away on Sunday September 22, 2024. Born on December 11, 1938, Rakel grew up in Istanbul, Turkey before coming to America as a teenager. She is preceded in death by her parents Garabed and Yeghisabet Ekmekjian, brothers Mardi and Vartan, and sister Vianush. She worked her whole life in fashion as a very talented dress maker and seamstress, often tailoring much of the family’s clothing as well. She loved her husband and only son very much, and was a well liked neighbor and member of the local community. She was always very outgoing and could make friends with anyone. Beloved wife to Lee for 49 years, before his passing last November. Loving mother to Christopher and his wife Alena. Cherished grandmother to Jameson and Lukas. Devoted sister to Anjel, and aunt to her many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept 25 from 11am-12pm, at St. Vartanantz Armenian Church, followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery.
