Obituary of Evarista Rodriguez

Evarista "Rosa" Rodriguez, age 90, of New York, NY, passed away on January 14, 2017. Devoted mother of Altagracia, Brunilda, and Morena Marmolejos. Beloved sister to Alejandro Martinez Rodriguez, Juanita Martinez Rodriguez, Eulalia Martinez Rodriguez, Juana Martinez Rodriguez, Consuelo Martinez Rodriguez, and Bernardo Martinez Rodriguez. Loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren Evarista was born in Altamira Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and migrated to New York City in 1965 (51 years ago). When she first arrived to the U.S., she worked a humble housekeeper, but then moved on to work in a factory designing dresses for dolls. She retired in 1968 at the age of 65 and lived out her later years devoting herself to her daughters, siblings and grandchildren. Visiting at Konopka Funeral Home, 9046 Palisade Ave., North Bergen, NJ 07047 on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 5pm-9pm. Interment at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny.
