My Dear Sweet Beautiful Friend. To say my heart is broken in a million pieces is an understatement. I remember the first time we met. You were so forthcoming to respectfully introduce yourself and I knew from that moment or friendship would begin. You taught me about true faith because yours was so very strong. Pat Garcia was my mentor and friend at HRA. I first met Ms. Garcia when I was an AJOSI at the Bushwick Job center and she came to give me a merit increase check. She was personable and encouraging from the moment we met. She told me that I was a rising star and that she knew how much my Director Ms. Newkirk relied on me. Ms. Garcia took the time to let me know that I was appreciated and that meant so much to me. As the years went by we became friends who had a lot in common. We attended concerts and we both have grandkids that we love dearly. She would always ask me about my Kyle . Pat was a great leader and she led by example and promoted at atmosphere of unity. I will never forget how she would have every one color coordinated for Job stat. We prepped and we planned on how we would look. I learned so much from her and I know that she was a blessing to many.

Pat Garcia was my colleague, teammate and very good friend at HRA for over 30 years. I first met Pat when she was Deputy Director at what was then the Hamilton Multi Service Center and Sandy Redman, the Director recruited us to be in her musical reviews which were performed for staff on special occasions. Pat debuted as a Supreme ( she was great ) and I leaned to Electric Slide, among other valuable show biz skills!!! After Hamilton, Pat moved on as Director of the Crotona, Concourse and Jamaica Centers, but we always remained a team: At Jamaica Center, Pat formed the Jamaica Choir and convinced me to join. The Choir was outstanding, in spite of my voice and went on to perform at many citywide functions and events, including a performance at the Apollo for Black History month, all thanks to Pat’s efforts and the tremendous talent of her Jamaica staff. What a thrill when even the stagehands applauded and we didn’t get “ the hook “ !!! Pat then moved on to become Field Manager, Regional Manager and Executive Regional Manager, where our teamwork continued.
Pat was a smart, talented and creative manager. She made enormous contributions to the Program in every position that she held. Her skills, leadership and energy knew no bounds. She never once gave me bad advice and we never had one argument during the entire time that we worked together. We shared many wonderful times together and her love and support helped get me through the rough ones. I can not say enough good things about Pat. I owe more to her than I could possibly repay.
Everyone whose life was touched by Pat is a better person for that experience. I know for sure that I am.
I love you Pat and will never forget you. You are my sister and will forever remain in my mind and heart. The world is a better place for having had you in it ❤️❤️❤️

I never worked with Ms.Garcia before, but always heard people speak of her with high regard. I remember once though when our agency cell phones were being upgraded. I went into one of the conference rooms at 4WTC and there she was waiting patiently for her turn to have her cell phone upgraded. Her patient quite demeanor said much about her character.
