Losing one person is hard enough. Losing two in such a brief time is unimaginable. I am so sorry for your loss, and feel deep sadness myself.
Mike was a man of great strength and perseverance despite many challenges he had to face over the course of his life. He was quick to smile and had a great sense of humor. If you were a friend of Mike's he was quick to offer a helping hand however he could. I am glad to be considered a friend rather than foe since he may have been just as quick with a punch when he or especially his wife was slighted!
Mike's love, devotion, and appreciation of his wife Carol was unique and unconditional. He so often expressed this through gifts that his jeweler may go out of business without Mike's patronage! And there are now two empty seats at their local diner where they so frequently ate. They will be missed greatly.
Mike's pain over the loss of Carol may have been the last hurdle he could manage. They are together again, watching over their loved ones from beyond. My condolences to all.
